Doctor’s Profile

 

Dr Tan Tee Yong graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1995. He received his training in Anaesthesiology in Singapore. 

 

In 2006, Dr Tan was awarded a scholarship under the Health Manpower Development Programme from the Ministry of Health, Singapore. Dr Tan went for further training in the field of Pain Medicine at the Royal Perth Hospital in Western Australia and was conferred the Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. 

 

Dr Tan received his training in Acupuncture at the Singapore College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and is one of the few Western Doctors who is fully registered as an Acupuncturist. This would allow Dr Tan to integrate both Eastern and Western form of Pain Management for his patients.

 

Dr Tan pioneered many interventional pain treatments in Alexandra Hospital.  He is also a clinical tutor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Dr Tan is heavily involved in various committees. He was the Co-Chair of the Safety Committee at Alexandra Hospital from 2008 – 2009. He was also the Honorary Secretary of the Singapore Society of Anaesthesiologists from 2007 – 2008. Dr Tan has also been a committee member of the Pain Society of Singapore for the past 3 years. 

 

In 2009, Dr Tan started his pain medicine and acupuncture practice specializing in treating various pain conditions.
